Printfil allows printing from DOS, Unix, Linux, host programs to any Windows printer, including USB, GDI, network printers, fax printers and PDF writers, without changes to the original applications. You can set your application to print to an ascii file, or you can let Printfil capturing one or more parallel ports (PRN: and from LPT1: to LPT9:), automatically redirecting your print jobs to any printer, even to a printer which is physically connected to the captured port or if no LPT ports are physically installed on your PC. it allows also: - preview printing - include logos or other images stored in separate files - colorize the text - print A4 landscape sheets in place of printing on dot-matrix 136-column printers - print to ANY printer installed on the Windows Control Panel, including USB, GDI, Windows-only and Virtual printers - send print jobs via fax (using any third-party fax software which acts like a printer - eg. Microsoft Fax - or a multifunction - all-in-one - printer) - use specialist windows fonts (barcodes, for instance) as well as normal characters - export print jobs in PDF format, with or without user intervention, even with encryption and password protection - send print jobs via e-mail by using your own e-mail client program, with or without user intervention - use a single, customizable set of escape sequences for ALL printers, regardless of make, model and emulation provided (if any, as for GDI printers) - print complex jobs to legacy printers in RAW mode (graphs, drawings) - archive a copy of all the captured jobs - use multiple printers simultaneously All this without changes to your applications If you are developing host based applications (like Unix) to run on a Windows Terminal Emulator, you can stop battling with transparent-print characters and different settings for different printers. All you need is a shared file system (NFS, SCO-VisionFS, Samba and others) to store output for your print jobs and PRINTFIL.

MS-DOS based applications are designed to print on character mode printers. Presently many laser and inkjet printers have powerful features but come with connectivity to only USB ports which DOS applications cannot access. DOS2USB extends the printing ability of DOS programs by capturing MS-DOS print jobs and redirecting them to windows printer irrespective of their types including USB Printers, Network Printers, Print-Servers, as well as PDF-printers too! The job redirection works even if a printer is physically connected to the captured port, on any PC running Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003 and Linux (via Wine). Fast and high resolution printing. Color printing! No need to modify MS-DOS application. No extra setting required. Can print on any windows printer. Send the print jobs via fax (using any third-party fax software acting like a printer - i.e. Microsoft Fax - or a multifunction - all-in-one - printer) Print complex jobs to legacy printers in DMP Print mode (including drawings and graphics) without going through the Windows driver and without changing the original jobs. Built in Code Page Supports. Currently Code Page 437(OEM), Code Page 850(ANSI - Latin1) and Code Page 862 (Hebrew) supported. More code pages supports are under development. This program helps to extend life to old DOS programs. Nowadays, many laser and jet printers have powerful features but ... can not print a simple text accurately. Besides, some inexpensive printers can not print in text mode at all (the so-called win-printers or GDI-devices). DOSPRN allows you to use a good old DOS program with new printers irrespective of their types (Yes, USB and network printers, print-servers, and PDF-printers too!) Also DOSPRN supports Epson and HP PCL Esc-sequences emulation, multiple international codepages, landscape/portrait printing, text color manipulation, absolute positioning and many other features.

The HVLJFont package provides downloadable PCL "soft" fonts for use with HP compatible Laserjet printers. The fonts can be used with MS-DOS, Window's terminal programs, Unix, Linux, Macintosh, and IBM's AS/400 system. They are particularly valuable if you have a Laser printer that does NOT provide fixed pitch fonts that are scalable, or sufficiently legible. These highly legibility, fixed pitch fonts are based on ProCon's HVFont design. Sizes range from a miniscule 50cpi, 3pts, right up to a large 8.33cpi, 17pts. The sizes from 30cpi to 15cpi are the most useful as few printers produce readable text at these sizes with their native fonts.
