Printfil allows printing from DOS, Unix, Linux, host programs to any Windows printer, including USB, GDI, network printers, fax printers and PDF writers, without changes to the original applications. You can set your application to print to an ascii file, or you can let Printfil capturing one or more parallel ports (PRN: and from LPT1: to LPT9:), automatically redirecting your print jobs to any printer, even to a printer which is physically connected to the captured port or if no LPT ports are physically installed on your PC. it allows also: - preview printing - include logos or other images stored in separate files - colorize the text - print A4 landscape sheets in place of printing on dot-matrix 136-column printers - print to ANY printer installed on the Windows Control Panel, including USB, GDI, Windows-only and Virtual printers - send print jobs via fax (using any third-party fax software which acts like a printer - eg. Microsoft Fax - or a multifunction - all-in-one - printer) - use specialist windows fonts (barcodes, for instance) as well as normal characters - export print jobs in PDF format, with or without user intervention, even with encryption and password protection - send print jobs via e-mail by using your own e-mail client program, with or without user intervention - use a single, customizable set of escape sequences for ALL printers, regardless of make, model and emulation provided (if any, as for GDI printers) - print complex jobs to legacy printers in RAW mode (graphs, drawings) - archive a copy of all the captured jobs - use multiple printers simultaneously All this without changes to your applications If you are developing host based applications (like Unix) to run on a Windows Terminal Emulator, you can stop battling with transparent-print characters and different settings for different printers. All you need is a shared file system (NFS, SCO-VisionFS, Samba and others) to store output for your print jobs and PRINTFIL.

This program helps to extend life to old DOS programs. Nowadays, many laser and jet printers have powerful features but ... can not print a simple text accurately. Besides, some inexpensive printers can not print in text mode at all (the so-called win-printers or GDI-devices). DOSPRN allows you to use a good old DOS program with new printers irrespective of their types (Yes, USB and network printers, print-servers, and PDF-printers too!) Also DOSPRN supports Epson and HP PCL Esc-sequences emulation, multiple international codepages, landscape/portrait printing, text color manipulation, absolute positioning and many other features.

PCLReader Views & Converts PCL & Text into PDF, PDF/A, XPS, TIFF, BMP, PNG, PCX and ASCII Text. Once viewed, a PCL or Text file can be printed to any Windows printer driver. This is useful in when you have a non-LaserJet PCL printer and need to print an invoice, loan, insurance or other type of document from legacy applications that require PCL4/5/5e LaserJet printers. The ASCII text can also be extracted from the PCL file for data migration and archiving purposes. PCLReader is the first commercial quality PCL viewer/converter to be released as FREEWARE. New Features: * Expanded access to the various PDF preferences that can be set when creating raster PDF files. * Add Document Info to the Document Properties in the PDF header like Author, Title, Keywords, etc. * Password protect PDF files to inhibit the ability to edit or copy content. * Added the ability to import Raw EMF files for viewing. Major Benefits: * Print PCL files to any Windows printer driver (DeskJets, GDI, PostScript or PCL XL only printers) * Convert PCL or Text into PDF, PDF/A, TIFF, PNG and other formats. * Saves paper by previewing PCL print files before you print them. * Split PCL files. * Optimize PCL files PCLReader is a limited, subset of PageTech's PCLWorks Program ($89) to showcase what the commercial product can do. PCLWorks can convert PCL into very small JBIG2 compressed raster or vector/text PDF and PDF/A files. As well as, PCL to TIFF, PNG, XPS, BMP, PCX, DCX, WMF and EMF formats. The majority of PageTech's business is derived from licensing its various PCLTool SDK ($495 - $3,995) options. PCLTool SDK Options include writing your own programs, using our API, or, for rapid application development, PCLXForm program with its own custom scripting language. V9.0 of the SDK now includes Windows .Net, 64-bit, and 64-bit .Net versions of its major PCL conversion programs.
